SPEAKER: Senior Pastor Randolph Adams
SUBJECT: “The Sincerity of Holy Communion”
SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 11:23-31
Holy Communion is not just a formality or a spiritual ritual. Therefore, when we partake in this sacred observance, we must take it SERIOUSLY. It can bring damnation to your soul when you take it unworthy.
There are times when Holy Communion can be taken during Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Weddings, and Baby Dedications. It can also be given at the hospital bedside and homes of the sick, in prison, and Ordination Services. Remember – It’s symbolic of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The Wine – Represents His Blood that was shed.
The Bread – Represents His Body that was bruised and broken.
How to prepare for Holy Communion:
Proclaim – Make a public announcement of your fellowship with Christ and remember what His death represents.
Remembrance – Communion is also a reminder of the Lord’s return.
Repentance – You should not take communion unworthy. Ask for forgiveness and mean it from your heart. Become your own “Spiritual Investigator” by examining yourself!
“We’re living in a time where so many people in the church don’t fear God like we used to fear him. When you FEAR Him, you will RESPECT Him; when you respect Him, you will REVERENCE Him; when you reverence him, you will HONOR him; when you honor him, you will OBEY Him; and when you obey him, you will LIVE for Him. THAT’S GODLY FEAR!”
