As we embark on this New Year of 2016, we all look forward to new beginnings and a fresh start, a year better than the year before. Whether with our relationships, our finances, our health, or just our circumstances in general, we want a complete change for the better. In order to get better, we must do better. With better comes changes…changes in our decision-making, changes with us no longer being “victims” of our circumstances, changes by no longer blaming others for our faults or flaws, changes by no longer having self-pity, changes by admitting that sometimes we are the problem, changes by accepting what God allows. Changes are inevitable and oftentimes become a part of the norm, so to speak. Daily, we go through changes within ourselves…our jobs, families, challenges/struggles, mental growth, and natural aging process/maturity.
Changes do not just happen overnight, but like all things, change is a work in progress and takes time. We cannot get comfortable in our normal routines while thinking that the realms of reality will take a backseat to our circumstances. To get different outcomes, we have to do different things. That is when change becomes necessary. This is the time when we need to move some stuff out of our way, when we need to let some people go, when we need to get our priorities in order, and when we need to utilize our time more wisely. Sometimes we have to grow through some things while we go through some things. Instead of worrying about how fast we grow through, God is concerned about how strong we are as we go through.
