In most churches, on any given Sunday, there’s always a word for the “house.” The Bible will determine the message and through the Holy Spirit, the Pastor will bring forth that message from the Word of God. Through that Word, the leader of the church determines the when, what, where, and how that message is communicated. While we won’t find every message pleasant or agreeable, we should see ourselves in it. Every message is different and will not reach everyone. A different message is different bait to catch different fish!
Satan may come to condemn us and try to make us feel guilty, but God convicts us and leads us to repentance. Anytime we experience major changes in our lives (positive or negative) it should create a hunger for spiritual change. What we consider negative changes are mostly from guilt or from convictions. Christians often use the phrase…“God is still working on me!” Consequently, they do this so they can continue to wallow in their mess. They often confuse the mess as just a test and try to justify it through the word of God – “Same Mess – Different Test.”
We use too many excuses for our mess through convictions. But God is not the author of confusion. The things we attract in life are often a reflection of who we really are and not who we really should be! It is obvious that people are more receptive to God and His Word when positive things are happening in their lives and life is good. However, when emotional, spiritual, or physical pains come, they want to question God or seek other outlets to ease the pain or fill the voids. You can’t avoid the storms without getting wet from the rain.
John 3:17 (KJV) – “For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
